Keeping Fit

Keeping fit is really important because we need to be active to stay fit and healthy.

There are lots of ways to keep fit! In today’s post, I will share what I enjoy doing to stay fit and active.

I do Little Athletics at Landy Field, in Geelong. In Little Athletics you do lots of different track and field sports. You compete against other people from different parts of Geelong. My team is Leopold. My fellow bloggers, Jordi and Millie, do Little Athletics too.

We don’t do all of the events every week, just different ones each time we go. We have training once a week to practice all of the events. Each week at training we practice different events.

Some track events you can do are:
70 metres                   60 metre hurdles
100 metres                 80 metre hurdles
200 metres                 300 metre hurdles
400 metres                 1100 metre walk and
8oo metres                1500 metre walk
1500 metres

Here I am doing the 1100m walk.

Some field events you can do are:
Shot put                      Triple jump
Discuss                        Long jump
Javelin                         High jump

My brother Ethan enjoys the triple jump!

My big sister, Shelby, doing high jump.

Another thing that I do to stay fit is swimming lessons.

Some things I do at swimming lessons are:

Sculling
Pizza arms (breast stroke)
Free style
Back stroke
Butterfly
Frog legs
Survival back stoke

Here I am (on the right) with my friend Haille (left) when we did swimming lessons with school this year.

When I’m at home I like to jump on my trampoline and I like to practice my roller skating.
Sometimes I like to turn the music up loud and dance.

The last thing that I do is to keep active is to walk to school with my mum.
