These past couple of weeks we have been discussing how to detox safely and effectively… and discovered it’s not as simple as taking a liver formula if we want amazing results – and you do get life-changing results if done properly! In a nutshell to detox well we need to: 1. Reduce our Toxic exposure 2. Remove Bad Bacteria & Waste 3. Repair & Rebuild our Digestive Lining 4. Replace Bad Bacteria with Good Bacteria and alkalise the body 5. Support our Body to Release Toxins (supporting the liver, kidneys and bowel) Today we get a bit technical but hang in there with me because it will empower you with the knowledge of how to detox well and have you Looking and Feeling Amazing in no time. The final stage of any professional and effective detox program is designed to enhance the capacity and function of the body’s waste removal systems – predominantly the liver, gall bladder and kidneys. Now that the load on these systems has been reduced through dietary changes, lifestyle modification and gut detoxification and repair, the liver will be more capable of cleaning the built up residue of toxins from the system. In this stage the focus is on balancing Phase I and II liver detoxification and ensure there is the correct nutrients in Phase III liver detoxification. All in the aim to increase release of toxins and heavy metals stored in fat, as well as increasing the release of bile to facilitate excretion of waste via the faeces. The 3 Phases of Liver Detoxification The overall goal of the liver is to take substances that are toxic and lipid soluble and make them non-toxic and more water soluble so they can be excreted via the kidneys and bowel It takes 3 Steps or Phases to do this: Our Aim is for Phase II liver detox activity to act on these reactive intermediates as quickly as possible – before they get the chance to damage our cell walls and DNA. The aim is to Balance Phase I and Phase II liver detox processes, The problem we have is that inflammation and nutrient deficiencies reduce the activity of Phase II enzymes. So what’s happening effectively is Phase I is processing toxins very quickly but phase II can’t keep up. So the toxins are pushed back into the blood stream as highly reactive substances similar to free radicals that damage our cells and DNA. This is what causes the symptoms of a healing crisis (headaches, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, migraine etc). Again, there is no “healing” in a healing crisis – just reactive intermediates causing further damage to our body. In a professional detox we aim to gently reduce Phase I activity so we are reducing reactive intermediate activity (thus reducing damage and symptoms) and stimulate Phase II activity. We do this with the following herbs: We gently reduce Phase 1 activity with: Garlic, Watercress, Tumeric (as well as remove caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, stress and toxic load) We stimulate Phase 2 activity with : St Mary’s Thistle, Tumeric, and herbs from the Brassiacea family. It is also very important to take specific antioxidants to mop up any reactive intermediates before they damage our cell and DNA. The antioxidants we use are: Vitamin A, C & E, Lipoic acid, Selenium, CoQ10, Querctin and Zinc Phase III Wow… a lot to take in but very important information to understand to ensure you are detoxing safely and effectively. Most good quality liver formulas will have the correct herbs and nutrients to support the three phases of liver detoxification but remember to include an antioxidant as well as continue with your detox diet and lifestyle and eat adequate protein (not high protein) so toxins can be safely excreted. Don’t Forget our Special Offer In-Store A FREE “Zinc Test” valued at $19.95. Are you ready to Detox and Live to your Potential? “Because it’s Not a Rehearsal” ©2012 Live Better Naturally Pty Ltd |
